MEET THE TEAM
Ben has been in the senior care industry for the past 2 decades. He's also reserve police officer, and community advocate dedicated to serve his community. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Ben opened his first small business in 1998. He later became a leader in the assisted living industry and served as an advocate for senior citizens.
In 2014 he was appointed to the Affordable Housing Commission by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. He also served as a deputy to California Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de León.
Ben also volunteers as an instructor for the American Red Cross and served on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Rio Hondo, and the Pacific American Volunteer Association. He is a past president and zone chair of the Maywood Lions Club.
Born in Korea, Ben immigrated with his family to Chile and came to the United States in 1983. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Korean. Ben met his wife, Regina, teaching Sunday school together in their early 20s. Today they live in Porter Ranch and have two daughters.
Evelyn, a native from Los Angeles, California. Was raised in a nurturing Hispanic family. She discovered her passion for caregiving at a young age, inspired by her desire to make a positive impact in the lives of those in need.
Her journey in the medical field began in 2008, when she successfully completed her Medical Assistant certification, equipping her with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide compassionate care.
In 2022, Evelyn joined Pace Cares, a premier organization committed to enhancing the lives of seniors. Her strong commitment to the elderly community, coupled with her extensive expertise and passion for caregiving, makes her a valuable addition to our team.
Evelyn is dedicated to improving the quality of life of seniors, delivering exceptional service, and ensuring their well-being.
In her leisure time, Evelyn enjoys the great outdoors, often embarking on hikes with her 9- year-old son. She also shares a love for sports and is an active participant in both basketball & soccer. Evelyn is resolute in her pursuit of further education, aspiring to become a Registered Nurse (RN) to better serve and support the healthcare needs of the elderly.
Senior Care Manager
Originally from Osaka, Japan, Akiko specializes in working with the Japanese and Japanese-American community.
She loves to share her interests and talents with seniors. Akiko, a classically trained pianist, volunteers her time performing for seniors at a handful of local retirement homes in LA. A certified yoga and pilates instructor, she has also developed programs designed specifically for seniors.
PACE Care is a senior care management company. We help families develop solutions for the long-term care needs of their elderly relatives. We are a California certified Home Care Agency.
PACE Care is a subsidiary of Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment (PACE), Inc., one of the largest non-profit organizations in the U.S. serving the Asian-Pacific Islander Community.
PACE Care is funded through a grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services to provide culturally competent long-term care for seniors in Los Angeles and provide meaningful employment to area residents
